Before You Choose

Which bookkeeping package do I need?

Your package is chosen by last year's turnover. A registered company that is not trading, or turns over less than R100,000: Compliance Care. Turnover up to R2 million: Starter. R2 million to R5 million, or you want monthly management accounts and a budget: Growth. Non-profits choose by income: up to R1 million, Non-Profit Essential; R1 million to R5 million, Non-Profit Funded. Above R5 million we quote. The package finder on this page works it out from your answers.

What does the Starter package include?

Xero, monthly bookkeeping reconciled by the 15th (up to 100 transactions on one bank account and one credit card), debtors and creditors lists, your annual income tax return, two provisional tax returns, the CIPC annual return and beneficial ownership filing, your B-BBEE affidavit and a quarterly plain-language summary. Starter is R1,250 a month. Sign up by 31 Dec 2026 and the Black Friday price stays fixed for 12 months, with your annual financial statements included.

What is the difference between Starter and Growth?

Growth includes everything in Starter, covers up to 300 transactions on up to three accounts, and adds management accounts by the 15th, an annual budget, budget versus actual, a three-month cash flow forecast, a quarterly review meeting and one director's personal tax return. Growth is R3,950 a month.

Is Xero included?

Yes. Starter, Growth and both Non-Profit packages include Xero Cashbook (bank feeds, reconciliation and reports), set up in your business's name and paid by us. To send invoices and quotes from Xero, Xero Standard is R598 a month more. If you already pay for Xero yourself, we work in yours.

Do you submit SARS returns?

Yes. Every package includes the annual income tax return, and the company packages include two provisional tax returns. VAT returns are an add-on of R450 a month, and payroll (including EMP201 and EMP501) is R45 per employee a month, with a minimum of R350.

My books are behind. Can you still help?

Yes. Up to two months behind is part of your package. Anything older is caught up at R450 per month of records, quoted once we have seen your bank statements, before any work starts.

What happens after I pay?

You receive your client portal login and the list of documents we need, and your engagement letter to sign online. Upload your bank statements in the portal and we start. Every step and date is shown in your portal.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Monthly packages run month to month. Give one calendar month's written notice at any time.

Do you charge VAT?

No. The Reneal Effect is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our fees.

Do you only work in Cape Town?

We are based in Cape Town and work with businesses and non-profits across South Africa, remotely through the client portal, email and WhatsApp.
